Galway based organisation ‘Hope 4 disability’ says the HSE service plan for 20-12 will mean no funds for school leavers with disabilities.

Over 40 children with intellectual disabilities who ‘graduate’ from school services across Galway this year are facing the withdrawal of HSE support.

The group also claims the ‘Brothers of charity services in Galway’ is facing up to 2 million euro in cuts to its budget this year.

The organisation offers a service to over 1 thousand people who have an intellectual disability and their families.

Hope 4 disability spokesperson, Eamon Walsh says cuts to the school leavers resources is a callous move.
