4 YEAR PRISON SENTENCE FOR EYRE SQUARE ATTACK

A city woman has been given a four year prison sentance for assaulting a Ballinasloe woman two years ago causing her to temporarily lose sight in one eye.

25 year old Laura Reddan of 25 Davis Road, Shantalla pleaded guilty to the assault causing serious harm of 23 year old Jean Kelly of Ballinasloe, contrary to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act on May 19 2007 at Eyre Square.

Her sister 19 year old Karen Reddan of 25 Davis Road, Shantalla, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of assault causing harm contrary to section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act on the same date.

Their first cousin 27 year old Sharon Walsh of 47 Corrach Buí, Bishop O’Donnell Road, Westside also pleaded guilty to assault causing harm during the incident.
