3 MONTHS DETENTION FOR BOY RACER AT GALWAY COURT

A self-confessed boy racer was sentenced to three months’ detention and disqualified from driving for twelve months at Galway District Court this week for doing hand brake turns at speed in the car park at Galway Shopping Centre

20 year old Darren Burke, from Cartymór, Turloughmore, Athenry, denied he had been driving dangerously at the rear of the Shopping Centre car park, near the Supermac’s on November 25 last year.

His friend, 19 year old Hugh O’Sullivan, of Cloonee, Headford, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving at the car park on the same night.

He was fined €500 and disqualified from driving for twelve months.
