3 million euro investment in council houses in Galway

Galway Bay fm newsroom – 3 million euro is to be invested in local authority housing in Galway over the next two years.

It’s part of a national government scheme of 68 million euro which will see a total of 449 homes built across 24 counties.

Local authorities with the largest housing waiting lists are being prioritised in the new scheme.

Galway city council is to get 2.5 million to build 15 council houses at various locations.

In the county 3 single rural dwellings will be constructed, two in Kinvara and 1 in Connemara with the allocation of 420 thousand euro.

Minister for Housing Jan O’Sullivan says local authorities have suggested the projects which will benefit.
