Clooniffe Farm in Moycullen

A farm on the outskirts of Galway City – the first of its size to come up for sale in nearly 15 years – is set to be sold in an online auction in September.

According to selling agent Martin O’Connor, Clooniffe Farm in Moycullen is an opportunity not to be missed as farms of this quality rarely present themselves to the market in the region.

This prime farm extends to 28.17 acres and is top quality limestone land which is laid out in large fields divided by stone walls.

The property enjoys excellent road frontage and has the potential for two sites which due to their unique location are prime sites with great demand locally.

The farmyard is set back from the road and has a gravel driveway leading into a large yard area accessed via double gates comes complete with a three-bay back to back cattle shed (four bays with slatted tanks – two dry bays) and a four-bay round top hay barn together with cattle handling facilities and a silage pit slab. The buildings are maintained in good order.

The property enjoys a second entrance from the Ballyquirke Lake side road (the back road to Moycullen village).

“This is an excellent opportunity for new and existing farmers to acquire a ready to go farm on the west side of the city and cut down on long commutes across to the east of the county.

“The land is divided into four distinct sections with a large meadow area to the front, two large equally sized grazing plots to the rear of the yard with the final plot at the rear providing grazing and woodland shelter which could easily be reclaimed into good grazing land,” said Mr O’Connor.

The property has mains water supply and electricity. There are no entitlements for sale with the property.

The Advised Minimum Value is €450,000. The online auction will take place on September 16. For further information or to arrange a farm walk, contact DNG Martin O’Connor Land Sales on 091 866708.
