27 CONDITIONS ATTACHED TO DOUGHISKA FOODSTORE DEVELOPMENT

City planners have given the go-ahead to a licensed discount foodstore in Sraith Fhada on the Doughiska Road in the city.

Permission has been granted subject to 27 conditions.

The plans submitted by Ignatius Foy, Geraldine Foy and Leo Maher provide for the construction of a licensed discount foodstore in Sraith Fhada with a gross floor area of over 17 hundred square metres.

It’s to be positioned over a single floor with the building extending to over 8.5 metres over ground level.

In the 27 conditions attached, planners stipulate that the developer lodge a cash deposit of 90 thousand euro with Galway City Council, or a bond of an insurance company or other security to the value of 150 thousand euro.

This is required to secure the provision, completion and maintenance of landscaping works on-site.
