26 GHOST ESTATES ACROSS CITY AND COUNTY

A number of housing estates across the city and county remain empty and abondoned following the crash of the property market.

A map outlining the locations of these ‘ghost estates’ has been drawn up by the National Institute of Regional and Spatial Analysis.

In total, the figures reveal that over 600 such estates lie idle across the country.

20 of those are scattered across Galway county while another 6 were identified in the city.
