24 MILLION SET ASIDE FOR POOLBOY LANDFILL

Ballinasloe Town Council has 24 million euro set aside for the repatriation of the poolboy landfill over the next 30 years.

Town Clerk Alan Farrell told the monthly meeting of the Town Council the auditors report showed a balance of 24 million from landfill receipts at the end of 2005.

But he said there would be significant expenditure in 2006 and 2007 with work on lining, capping, a gas management system, EPA fees and the management of the site.
