20 houses sold during launch weekend in Headford
The new showhouses at Gort na Fuinse in Headford were opened for the first time last weekend, with the selling agents reporting 21 sales – due to exceptional demand, a further phase of houses will be released for sale this weekend.
Gort Na Fuinse offers a mix of three and four bedroom contemporary semi-detached houses. All houses been designed and built to the latest edition of Building Regulationsand are achieving NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building) status as a ‘BER A2’ rated house.
A spokesperson for selling agents Lydon Farrell said: “These houses are designed to the highest levels of energy efficiency and in accordance to the Department of the Environment the homes will use only 30% of the energy that the equivalent house in 2005 required. All these efficiencies been achieved by using a combination of high-performance building fabric materials and high efficiency heating equipment. An NZEB benchmark is unlikely to be surpassed for some time.”
The houses at are designed with some different open plan layouts to choose from during the open viewings on site. Some internal features include floor to ceiling tiling with high quality sanitary ware in the bathrooms and designer fitted kitchens by Cherrymore.
Externally, there will be significant landscaping and numerous green spaces with over 250 trees being planted on completion, most houses are overlooking onto a green, maintenance-free facade and every house is prewired for an electric car charging point.
Lydon Farrell Property reported last weekend that some purchasers included locals looking to remain in the area and others included purchasers who are renting and working in Galway City and looking to remain close the city.
“Most potential purchasers are currently paying very strong monthly rents, whilst loan repayments at Gort na Fuinse are somewhat cheaper. Headford has a superb mix of family friendly facilities such as multiple schools along with a thriving sporting community.
