20 CITY BUS STOPS IDENTIFIED FOR REAL TIME TERMINALS

Over 20 locations have been identified across the city for the installation of real-time passenger information terminals.

It’s part of phase two of the national RTPI project which will see installations in areas including Knocknacarra, Rahoon, Salthill, Renmore, the Tuam Road and the city centre.

The display terminals use GPS navigation technology to monitor bus locations and estimate their time of arrival.

Galway West TD Seán Kyne says the proposed city sites are now to be further examined for ESB network connectivity and costing with a view to tendering the works involved.
