18MILLION EURO FOR GALWAY COUNTY ROADS

4 and a half million euro has been sanctioned as seed capital for the construction of the Gort to Tuam motorway.

The National Roads Authority is due to officially announce the funding later, under its 2013 National Roads Allocations, which provides a total of 18 million euro for Galway

Other large allocations include 1.1 million for the bypasses in Gort and Crusheen and 1.2 million for bypass work in Ballinasloe, Loughrea and Oranmore.

40 Thousand euro has also been allocated for a pedestrian crossing in Portumna and i million euro for the Clifden to Oughterard road.
