18-month-old boy dies after being run over on driveway

Gardaí have confirmed that a toddler lost his life in a tragic accident in Connemara this afternoon.

The boy, understood to be around 18 months old, was killed when a car ran over him in the driveway of a house at Clynagh.

He was rushed to hospital by helicopter, but was pronounced dead.

Gardaí have described the death as a tragic accident.
