17 PAGE REPORT DOESN’T RELIEVE ANGER OVER WATER CRISIS

Over fifty concerned residents from the four areas affected by lead contamination turned up at last night’s emergency council briefing, the second in four days

A 17 page briefing was distributed with headings such as the nature and scope of the problem, public health issues, the testing regime and the action plan

However despite this neither councillors nor residents were happy with the officials responses during the five hour meeting on their short and long term solutions

Director of Water Services Ciaran Hayes is to address a public meeting in Mervue next week, and in the other affected areas over the following weeks
