Residents opposed to a 15 million euro housing development at Tirellan Cross in the city have lost their battle to stop it going ahead.

Coman Gaughan and Seamus Egan of Menlo Park have been given the go ahead to build 43 homes on a 3 acre site in Terryland.

Despite objections from local residents, the development which includes a gym and retail units, have got the green light from the city council.
