12-year old Seán becomes social media sensation
From this week’s Galway City Tribune – A city boy has become something of a social media hit following his numerous tricks that he has perfected using footballs, tennis balls and sliotars.
On the videos posted to the TikTok social media site, twelve-year-old Seán Butler from Ard Fraoighá on the Clybaun Road shows off some fancy footwork and tricks – including flicking a football backwards into a basketball net . . . without looking.
“It takes plenty of practice,” he told the Galway City Tribune earlier this week as he said that he was amazed by the attention he is receiving. He has become something of a local celebrity.
Seán is a sports enthusiast. He plays football with St Michael’s GAA Club and hurling with Rahoon-Newcastle but has always been a competitive participant in both codes, according to his family.
Young Seán said that everything that is seen on social media is well-practiced and well-rehearsed.
“It didn’t just happen by accident,” he stressed.
