€100 million splurge

Four major city developers have gone on a €100 million spending spree, snapping up properties on Eyre Square and Forster Street for a massive upmarket office and residential development, the Galway City Tribune can exclusively reveal.
The so-called ‘Odeon Syndicate’ is planning to entirely transform the lower eastern end of the Square with a landmark development.
Already, the developers have spent up to €100m acquiring various buildings in the area — which also includes St. Patrick’s Avenue — and are understood to be in negotiations for several more.
They are planning to construct an upmarket office and residential development.
