100 gather for city vigil in memory of Savita
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Up to 100 people gathered in Eyre Square in the city last evening for a candlelight vigil to mark the one year anniversary of the death of Savita Halappanvar.
31-year-old Savita died of septicaemia at UHG last year following a miscarriage.
Similar vigils took place in Dublin and Cork.
It emerged yesterday that the Minister for Health James Reilly has agreed to meet with Savita’s husband Praveen to discuss her case.
